Rim Fire Ammunition at a great with superb performance.
I’ve used Eley subsonic hollow point .22 rounds for several years for rabbit shooting and found them to be excellent in terms of accuracy and consistency.
They are very quiet to use, you will usually only hear the click of the firing pin, hopefully followed by a dull thud when the bullet strikes your target. The 40 grain hollow point bullet will easily and humanly dispatch your prey.
As it is a subsonic and therefore slow round, the trajectory is far from flat, which you would expect from any subsonic round. I zero my CZ rifle in at 70 metres and I know from spending an hours testing on targets that at 50 metres the point of impact will be 2 inches high, zero at 70 meters and at 100 metres 5 inches low. So be prepared to adjust your point of aim accordingly.
Overall the .22 subsonic is a great round to use and I’m happy to pay a couple of pence more for the quality which in this case Eley does provide.
Even taking into account that it is slightly more expensive than its competitors, the Eley subsonic hollow point .22LR round gets 5 out of 5 stars from me.Tags: .22 lr, ammuntion, rifle ammo, rimfire
